As long as you designate a specific heading style (Heading 1) in word the chapters should work out.

In Calibre you can adjust everything and then verify the table of contents.

I'm always shocked when so called publishers do the worst job of formating an ebook. Most of the self published books I read are actually fine.

This book was recommended to me by a friend, I read his copy over a long weekend - great world building with a lot of small details that add up to a believable and functional world, with a copy of exceptions. The protagonists miss some fairly obvious clues and overlook a few things that would have greatly simplified their mission if they'd taken a few seconds to think about them, but the pacing is such that these were easy to overlook as the book is filled with action from start to finish. A really enjoyable hammock read, looking forward to the next installment!

A great story with a new perspective on older themes, the writing is well paced and moves quickly. There are some formatting and grammatical errors that will bother some people, but not enough to detract from the story in my opinion.

Emergent AI and the consequences of centuries of ecological and societal mismanagement are heavy topics and this book deals with them very well. It’s not preachy or over the top, it’s an entertaining and potentially prophetic look at a possible future.
