This xuanhuan series has a female protagonist called Jun Wu Xie. This type of series is more uncommon given how the vast majority of cultivation novels seem to have male protagonists.

One aspect of the series I enjoy is how Jun Wu Xie is able to use her schemes to defeat her opponents. She’s more of the quiet, intelligent but emotionally naïve person.

This brings me to my next point, the male lead. I’m not a big fan of him and Jun Wu Xie’s romance. I feel like he takes advantage of Jun Wu Xie’s innocence in romance. The male lead seems like the overbearing president type of person in those female novels since he’s very powerful and possessive of Jun Wu Xie.

This series is a bit dark since there are some unpleasant aspects like what happens to some characters, a bit too dark to get into specifics, which is very off putting for me.

This series is good for someone who wants to read about a high IQ, low EQ female protagonist in a fantasy world and can handle dark elements well. This is not for people who are looking for lighthearted adventures.
