Biana At work people are aware that I'm an avid reader and they often come to me with suggestions. This was a suggestion from a co-worker's wife....I need to remember to thank her.

This is the story of Allan Karlsson, who just didn't want to have a party for his 100th birthday and just stepped out into the pansies. Then he kept walking. And he found a wall and walked until it was low enough for him to step over. Then he went to the bus stop...

Every adventure that Allan encounters is because...why not? He never made a plan to run away, he was wearing his bedroom slippers after all. But the characters and adventures he had were interesting.

I read this book in week 2 simply because it came in at the library at that time. I am traveling and Kindle's don't always make the flight attendants happy so I try to have a paperback on hand.

I would be very curious to know if anyone else has read this. If you haven't...so far...it's amusing and I can encourage you to pick it up. But be warned...it's translated from Swedish. The pentameter is different but delightful!

Bam cooks the books (bamcooks) A friend recommended this one to me. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Biana I finished the book and I can recommend it! It was a very interesting collection of tales and characters and adventures!

Guy | 37 comments This was recommended by the readers' advisory librarians at my local library so I added it to my want to read list and it fits well in this category. Looking forward to reading it as I have heard only positive reports so far.
