Leave your thoughts on PART 1 here!

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) woopsie! I am almost done with the book and didn't think of commenting until now. I was a little confused when I started reading, because it was really strange. However, when I got into it I started to fly through the novel.

Jamie Zaccaria I'm trying to get into this book but it's not what I thought it would be. I was expecting horror but it seems to be more "teenage girl fantasy" which isn't my thing. Does it get better?

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) It is a fantasy for sure. I thought it was a dark and violent. But it did have some humor and fantastical elements as well. I may have loved it so much, because I am also a fantasy fan. So I thought it was a mix of the two genres.

Hmm so far this seems super Neil Gaiman-esque to me. Like I'm getting big American God vibes right now. I think this is a decent set up, I feel comfortable enough with the characters and the strange plot. Super excited to see where this goes. One thing I will say is I'm not super fond of the off-hand comments about Mrs. McGillicutty's son. They can be explained away by the characters not knowing how to identify his sexuality, I guess. But it rubbed me the wrong way. Hopefully this doesn't come up again in the rest of the book. Other than that, so far so good!
