Reader One Personally, I loved it. Dont get why people thought it was boring. I had many emotions during the book. And felt like it gave me more insight in Snows mind and i enjoyed seeing how the games developed and the thoughts around it. Not to mention the tragic love story, im a sucker for those

Lynds I enjoyed the book and would actually love for another one to be made about how Snow climbed his way to presidency. I loved making connections with the songs and characters from this book to the next three. I keep wondering why so many reviews say that it was an good spin off and an OK additional read if you want an explanation for Snow's past.

Sabrina I actually liked it a lot tbh. Similar to the other commenter, I felt a lot of emotions during some scenes! I know some people say that the book doesn't add anything to the series but I liked seeing the early stages of the Hunger Games along with life in the Capitol. I also liked how the book didn't force us to feel sorry for Snow... I thought that he stayed pretty in-character for a lot of the book.

Leilah I thought it was highly unnecessary. Nothing about the book enhanced the the plot of the original books for me. I do not feel like some epiphany about why Snow is the way he is and I simply do not care about the trajectory of the games. It was drawn out and just if I went in with ay higher expectations I would have been so displeased.

In my opinion, the Hunger Games would be fine without the prequel. I don't think it added anything to Suzanne Collins' world.

Alison Curwen I really enjoyed it. The story showed how far the games had evolved; I particularly liked how Collins showed the evolution of the arena and technology in the games. The relationship btw Snow and his tribute was complicated but it showed Snow as a person with more emotional depth seen in the trilogy. A little long but I recommend it to those who enjoyed the original trilogy as well as to YA who've not read the trilogy.

Alexandria White It started off really slow to me. I don't think it picked up until the middle to the end for me where it got emotional. I enjoyed the book but it did not meet my expectations. I personally didnt want to know anything about Snow, I would have rather heard about Haymitch. The end though pulled at my heart strings. Hearing the Hanging Tree song, hearing about the catniss plants, the evolution of the game arena. Still a great book though. I did learn alot.

I agree 100 percent with this. I think it was a great book, but I personally would rather it be about Haymitch, or maybe even new characters from different districts. It did explain a lot that the trilogy didn’t though, like you said, and I enjoyed it. (:
