May I replace a bad quality cover?

I know there is a policy not to remove a cover and replace it with a new updated cover.

However, in this case the cover image is just, in my opinion, a bad quality image (it shows the whole book, instead of just the cover, and that bothers me when I add many covers in posts). I have a good quality image of this exact same cover.
In this case, the cover hasn't been changed or updated in any way - so may I remove the cover image to be able to add a better quality one?

yes, as long as the new cover image is from an acceptable source (amazon, the publisher, worldcat, a library). after you delete the old cover, leave a note in the 'change comment' box when you upload the new cover image to let people know that it's the same cover, just a better picture.
