Here's an extensive list of books with numbers (in varying forms) in the title:

Sarah K Janet Evanonvich (sp?) writes a whole series of books with numbers in the title. The series is easy read mystery chick lit about a bounty hunter and her zany life. I've personally "read" (ie listened on disk) to all of them.
I would recommend the earlier books in the series. As with most long running series, they are starting to lose their punch now that they are in the mid twenties.

Patricia Reading Fahrenheit 451 for this one.

Ashley | 13 comments And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie was first published as Ten Little Indians.

Connie Miller | 37 comments The Thirteenth Tale is an excellent gothic/noir book for true book lovers. The premise is that a very famous (fictional) author, who is a total recluse, has sent a message to a bookseller's daughter. In it, the author says that only this woman can write the author's memoir, and she has one chance to do it. When the daughter takes her up on the intriguing offer, she finds mysteries and betrayals, and the ultimate reason why she was chosen.

Melissa LOVED The Thirteenth Tale!!!

Vermicious Knids Child 44 - will also be a movie this year and falls under that catagory. Looks promising.

I've read Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore for this challenge, great book and highly recommended!

Angela | 9 comments I read I am number four by Pittacus Lore. don`t read it. It was awful. I think there a lot of other great books you can read for this prompt but this was horrible.

Page (victriviaqueen) | 47 comments That's a helpful link, Anne! I am planning on reading Zero History by William Gibson even though technically zero is not a number (in the same technical way that either white (if you are an artist) or black (if you are a physicist) are not colours) but I believe most people understand zero as a number so I stand by my choice!

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandabookworm) There's a School House Rock song about "Zero" called "Zero, my Hero." I think it's a valid choice.

message 13: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) There is also The 100 series, both the first book and the second one, Day 21, are valid for this category. I'm planning to use the second book for this, since the first one I'll be reading for the "turned into a tv show" category.

That's too funny. Yes, go for it. I am positive the number police will not make you read another with a "real" number. hahaha. Love this!

Donna (dsteiner23) | 4 comments I picked up a book of poetry because I was SURE it was a category on the list. Then I got home and realized it wasn't, however the title was "The 100 Best African American Poems" so I counted it as book with a number in the title.

message 16: by Kristina (new)

Kristina I'm going to read Every Fifteen Minutes by Lisa Scottoline for this category, but I have a couple of other books on my list that also have numbers in them:

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest by Ken Kensey
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

Tiffany (tiffany315) | 16 comments Say You're One of Them-Uwem Akpan
Half of a Yellow Sun (my next read)-Chimamanda Adichie

message 18: by Joan (new)

Joan I read 11.22.63 by Stephen King. Fitted the 'book with number in title' very nicely and an excellent story too.

message 19: by Cyndy (new)

Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 231 comments I skimmed the linked list and can highly recommend the following: A Tale of Two Cities, The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and Life of Pi. For this category I read Child 44, which was not on the list, but someone else recommended it above. If you like serial killer novels, it was really good.

Raven (ravenkingsley) | 47 comments This year I re-read 2001: A Space Odyssey and Nineteen Eighty-Four, and read NOS4A2.
