Would I need to read all three books this year for it to fit the spirit of ..."I think so, yes. If you need other suggestions, I can totally look up stuff! I'm reading the Legend trilogy.
Chandrika wrote: "Actually, I just found one I've been meaning to read- the Red Mars/Green Mars/Blue Mars trilogy!"Sweet! :)
Amber wrote: "Since I have never read His Dark Materials, I think I'll join the wagon and read that."It's a great series! I really enjoy it. It is one of the few that the books get better as the series continues. I personally think the third book is the best. Love it.
Chandrika wrote: "Actually, I just found one I've been meaning to read- the Red Mars/Green Mars/Blue Mars trilogy!"That sounds like an interesting series! May have to check it out at some point.
I'm reading the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness for this. Have been meaning to read A Discovery of Witches for ages so might as well dig in!
@Kayla, I love the All Souls trilogy and read the first and second books multiple times waiting for the third.
I just finished the first in the Southern Reach Trilogy, Annihilation, for this category. I wanted to adore it but to be honest my mind kept wandering and I couldn't get absorbed in it. It was ok though and I am moving on to the second......
Just limped my way through book two of the Southern Reach Triology. The middle book of any trilogy is nearly always the worst but this was really slow and didn't really advance the plot at all. All relevant information could have been condensed into 20 pages or so.
Since I've been terrible and not read it yet, but seen 3/4 movies, I figured it was time to read The Hunger Games Trilogy
Currently on Book 2 (Crossed) of the Matched trilogy by Ally Condie. I like it so far, it's reminiscent of some of my favorite books.
Just finished up the Southern Reach and tbh just didn't get it. Seems like a huge waste of my time. I hate when people rave about stuff and then I don't get it. I like the look of @danis trilogy, may give that a go next.
@Danni & Fay I keep saying im going to read Matched and never get round to it, i've heard mixed reviews. @Jodez I love the Hunger Games trilogy, the films are the first book adaptations that I've seen that were so accurate to what I imagined
I'm re-reading the Study series by Maria V Snyder in preperation for the 4th book this year
I hope we do. My actual list doesn't look like what I have planned at all. ^^What would be your new choice ?
Nerdish wrote: "I'm thinking of changing my choice for this, I presume I'm allowed to change my mind? :)"Of course! I've did that a few times already :)
I've got a lot of "big" books on my list and I wanted to get in some more fast paced books so I was thinking of the Maze Runner trilogy instead of the Bourne trilogy
Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set! The Mistborn Trilogy is one that I've completed recently, and I enjoyed it immensely.
I read the Legend series by Marie Lu for this one. So glad I picked it up - I think it helped restore my faith in YA dystopian novels since I wasn't a fan of Divergent or The Hunger Games. Excellent writing, believable characters and SUCH an emotional plot line. Highly recommended if you do like YA dystopian.
Question for the group. The Selection started as a trilogy, but now it's a series, but not told from the same perspective after the third book. Many people consider it a trilogy and the new books spinoffs. What does the group think? (wondering if it counts as I've completed all three)
I read the Maze Runner Trilogy - which is now a quartet due to the prequel (The Kill Order) and I've counted that :)
