It's weird saying that this is classic Neil Gaiman, when it's only the second of his books that I have read (Coraline being the first), but the style is so similar between the two that it's hard not to describe it in that way. This book left me with a sadness deep in the pit of my stomach. There were multiple scenes that were difficult to read, but I'm glad I powered through.

I agree. There were times I had to put it down because of the sadness and anger I felt. But in the end everything was beautiful, and it left me wanting more.

It's not a long book - you could probably do it if you had a nice cozy day off! I read "Brown Girl Dreaming" in a day, quite easily.
