Ooh, this list looks very exciting! I have this rather silly rule...that I can only watch the movie if I've read the book, but it makes it so worth it! The movie is my reward; the cherry on the top for ploughing through the book. If I watch the movie first, I feel that it spoils reading the book...because I know exactly what will happen (provided the movie follows the original story line).

I've read Frankenstein. I've also read Serena because I was asked to write a book review on it (I really enjoyed this unique, unusual novel and it's perfect for a movie). Far from the Madding Crowd has been on my book list for a while...How about everyone else?

Candice This is a great list! I also prefer to read before watching. Seeing how the film adapts their version in comparison to my own imagination is always great. If I watch first, I'll just see the actors in my head instead. Of this list I've read The Last Apprentice (definitely a book for a younger audience) Mockingjay, and Serena. All of which I enjoyed very much. I just finished the Maze Runner, so I'll certainly be reading the Scorch Trials before that comes out too.

Mary Jo | 1 comments I have just finished reading Serena. While it was a decent novel, it almost read as a screen play, at times. I think what we may have here is a movie here that will be better than the book, which is an unusual occurrence, in my book....pun intended.

Anne (annelouisetaylor) | 4 comments Wow, Candice! You have read a great selection of books. I agree with you 100% – if you watch the movie first, the film characters definitely come to mind. I also remember not wanting to watch the Lord of the Rings (even though I had read all the books in my teenage years) because I did not want to ruin my 'visual memory' of all the characters. Of course, I eventually did watch the trilogy - and I was not disappointed! It was very much how I imagined. But that is normally an exception. :)

Anne (annelouisetaylor) | 4 comments Interesting point, Mary! I have a feeling you could be right about the film being better than the book (which is not normally the case). I can't wait to watch it!

Sheree (the_sassy_sidekick) | 2 comments Interesting list!
I started 50 Shades of Gray and got about 20 pages in before I decided I had better things to do with my life.
I've read Mockingjay of course and Insurgent (though yet to read the last one) and am currently reading the Last Apprentice series as I quite liked the first one and am looking forward to the film =)
The only one on there that I might get around to reading before watching the films is the Maze Runner series. I'm not normally into Sci-Fi books but I'll give this one a go =)

nao (krissh) | 4 comments I've only read 'Insurgent' and 'Mockingjay'. But I have 'The DUFF' and 'Papertowns' so I'll probably read those. And I want to the read 'The Last Apprentice' and 'Where The Rainbow Ends' and the 'Maze Runner' trilogy, but I feel like I'd rather just watch the movies. I doubt I will ever read 50 Shades though or any of the other books on there. Maybe 'Still Alice'. In the far, FAR future.
