The Memory Man series featuring Amos Decker is my favorite Baldacci series. This is the fifth book in the series and it's my least favorite. Amos is back in his home town to visit the graves of his wife and daughter, when he is approached by the first man he ever sent to jail. He is dying, and he claims he is innocent, and wants Decker to revisit the case.
I didn't enjoy this book. The plot didn't work for me, and the book didn't advance Decker's overall story arc. It actually felt like Decker's story went backward because it ignored the changes and epiphanies from the last book. The plot had too many unrealistic features and inconsistencies, and the pace seemed plodding to me. There was no real hook for me in this story. Other fans did like the story, so if you like this series, you might like this book more than I did.
