I remember reading a book 7 or 8 years ago in my school library, about a teenage boy who has to fake being Christian and go to a mega-church because a girl was religious. It was written similarly to "Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie"

He meets the girl when he trips at track and talks to her outside her new house. Her dad would moves a lot, being a missionary / pastor (?)
