Fun question: where do you think the story will go next?

Chapter A is officially out now! Make sure to check your notifications to an invite to the poll OR check your messages for the link (you should have one or the other).
I like how the chapter starts but I don't think it's my best writing overall. Definitely didn't feel like 6 pages when I was writing it! Felt like only 2.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you all think about it!!

That is actually me I used to press random buttons all the time😂 when we were staying in England in our house there one summer I saw this large red button and I was like “huh what does this do?” So I pressed it and what I didn’t know was that it’s a burglar alarm so it started blaring all over the place AND IT WAS MIDNIGHT. Literally got the fright of my life. And you had to put this code in to make it stop and I didn’t know the code and my mum didn’t either she had to guess. Luckily she guessed right. That story is pretty infamous in my family now😂😂
I don’t press random buttons now even though I really want to😂

Thanks so much Dalia!❤❤ That's so sweet of you😱

It has a few endings but if you get to the true one, it's preeetty whack. I think you might like where it goes!

I learnt a life lesson that day😂 Never press a button if you don't know what it does. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S RED!!

@South I'm a full on 19 year old adult and I totally still do that😂 If the little toy says "push me" you can sure as hell bet I'm going to push it!
@Shijia I can neither confirm nor deny🤐😂 No spoilers! But it's a twisty little story so... who can say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And thank you so much!! Honestly didn't think it was my best writing, I think some of the later chapters have a more fluid writing style! Can't wait to see what you think of them too!👏🏻

@Carrie thank you! Just wait and see what happens next *laughs ominously*... 😂
@Trinity 😱thanks I'm so glad you liked it!! Imagine you pressed a button in real life and everyone around you really did freeze😱😂 that would be so crazy. Button pressing can be dangerous for your health!
@Ilsen I'm so glad you picked option 1! It leads to such an interesting path in the story but this might not be the last you've seen of my boy Colm...
@Sophie it so is deep! I think Chapter A takes a bit too much of a cursory glance at the idea of fake people being programmed but it's definitely explored more later on and it's been very interesting to look at it from a moral standpoint too and challenge myself in what I thought about it.

Now, do the robotic people have transmitters in them? Is it a necessary apparatus for them? Is it necessary for the story? And is it ok if I am confused by the term: Transmitter Scrambler? Does the mentioned device really scramble some transmitters?
As for my conspiracy theory:
Behold:
Aliens made contact with a highly advanced civilisation version of humanity. This community is governed by A.I. People calmly allowed the A.I. to govern them because they recognized that the A.I. was just better at this than the politicians. Now, eons later. the A.I. controls them without opposition or resistance. And just a few decades ago the aliens made contact. And they had the powerful intoxicatant: Drugs!
The A.I. knew nothing of that substance then but quickly got addicted to it. The only way for them to get access to these drugs were through the fleshy people who could use it and then convey the random but cool feels to them by using the entire Electromagnetic Spectrum. This is why they have Transmitters. They use drugs. They convert that feels into electrical feels with the help of some devices and then they transmit it to the world network of A.I. with the help of Transmitters.
I could explain what exactly the transmitters are/do buuuut the explanation does come up later in the story, so all I can say is hang on tight and keep on reading!
Although I can say that a transmitter scrambler disrupts the transmission of a signal and that when the transmitter scrambler is activated by pressing the button, all the fake people froze (that was shown in Chapter A). Why exactly that happened is something you can probably guess but it is also something that comes up again so this isn't the last you've seen or heard of the transmitters and the scrambler device.
I love your theory!! You should totally write your own version of the story because that's an awesome idea😂👏🏻 I can't confirm nor can I deny whether it's true or not! There's a strict no-spoiler policy from me here!

That was my recommendation: Reconsidering the name: Transmitter and Scrambler.
And a side point that probably supports the name change: You have solid light! Hard-light holograms that feel no different to the touch than real flesh. The society is so advanced. And they still use Transmitters.

It's not that deep bro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm not out here writing an award-winning technologically correct book😂
I think I get what you're saying, though. That transmitters and scramblers are basic tech but... that's just what the narrator of the story (which is your character) and Colm calls them that doesn't necessarily mean... I don't want to give too much away because spoilers!
Besides both the name transmitter and scrambler in the context of the chapter are correct anyway. Maybe it'd be easier to think about it in the context of the story: if you're a couple of kids coming across this tech for the first time ever (or in Colm's case you've seen it before but who's to say you fully understand it) you're not going to start waxing lyrical about the insane level of advanced technology happening here. You're going to give everything simple names that explain exactly what they are and what they do. I think the names accurately reflect the characters, whether they do justice to the complexity of the tech is another matter entirely!
But I appreciate the level of thought you've put into it, it brings up some interesting discussion...

😂Let's just say I learnt a thing or two from Rick Riordan and who doesn't love a good cliffhanger! There's even better ones coming up too...

Don't worry, all will be explained in due time! If you're confused in real life, imagine how confused your story character is right now😂 They definitely have a couple of hundred of questions and there might be a way in the future to get answers...

@Zaiyah thanks so much! I'm interested to see which paths you chose and what books you decide to read...
@Dee Can't wait to see which option you choose and what book you end up reading! I'm so glad you liked the first chapter! I definitely like to write what I read so if this was a book written by someone else I'd love the concept of it too!

My husband is a chronic button pusher. A couple years ago we visited NASA in Houston and all he did was search for random buttons to push everywhere. I think he was hoping for a lift-off or maybe a secret area with aliens. Either way it got old fast... until he did find a button to push... it was the elevator one. 😂

I used to love pushing elevator buttons until I realised that's where all the germs are😂
Also cool! Nasa!!
