Blimey Helen you're full of suprises, thought you'd hate my nomination, glad you didn't! :-)

Despite the vocals, I thought it had a nice dreamy feel to it, a bit shoegazy.
Edit: Must be the heat/humidity 'cos 2 of my 5 votes went to female vocal songs. That's not normal!!

I only saw Leon Russel once - here in Melbourne in July 1980. It was a big bill and a long night and many punters left before Leon took the stage and even during his set. Some may have been there just for local band The Dead Livers, a lot would have been there just for The Amazing Rhythm Aces and many would have been expecting the singer/songwriter Leon of the 70s (A Song For You, Delta Lady, This Masquerade) so they were disappointed to get Leon in full bluegrass mode with Sam Bush & The Newgrass Revival. I thought he was great and the night's line-up was an all-round treat.
P.S. I only got to see Willie Nelson once too. February 1981, an outdoor event at the Melbourne Showgrounds. I've been in love with Willie since he first hit my radar in 1975 with "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain". I know he was around for many years before that but I would only have known him as a songwriter.

Well we may not be very happy campers but a big thanks to everyone who made the effort. There's a fight down the front with someone trying to eject the CD, Lez is searching in her bag for the earplugs and the Rescue Remedy, Helen is hanging out the window decorating the side of the coach. Derek is receiving quite a few texts saying "Dodged a bullet mate". I don't know what tech is singing but his personal mp3player has been in use for the entire trip. The harrassed driver is vowing "Never again!" Only Collette and Jemma seem to be enjoying themselves, giggling away down the back. The empty cask of perry may be responsible for that.

A clear winner this week, with an impressive score in the mid 30s, it's one of the highest we had in some while. 'She Sells Sanctuary' by The Cult, wins it hands down with 34 points, so this weeks gold plated steering wheel winner is.........KJS. Well done that man.
In a creditable 2nd place, with a score that usually be a winning one, on 27 points, it's the synth-pop supremos from Dussledorf, Kraftwerk. Tim's 'Europe Endless' nomination earns him a sliver plated hubcap.
And finally, '2-4-6-8 Motorway' by Tom Robinson Band, takes the 3rd spot with 21 points. The prize of a bronze crankhandle goes to Gordon.
Everybody else gets a token consolation prize....a barf bag each!
Well done all. We made it folks..this ol' banger of a bus got there....although judging by the green faced looks from many of you..i think it's time to disembark.....oh..you already have! :)
An interesting & eclectic mix of music in this playlist...not at all what i would choose to listen to on a roadtrip..but i suspect the same could be said for everyone else! I think i'll take the car next time! :)

2-4-6-8 Motorway scored 21."
Opps, apo logees Gordon, now corrected. Tis odd..but i looked up and down that list and missed that one. I know my eyesight ain't great, but sometimes i think they like games with me mind as well! :)

Perhaps we could have a "what's your phone ringtone" round. Could be interesting especially if people just have a landline or mobile with default setting - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk4KK-g..."
Interesting idea for a theme Helen, but rnquire i must.....what do those who have never had ring tone installed on any mobile telecommunications device, namely because such a person as i, have not owned a mobile phone?! ;-)
And i tells thee......should this theme become a reality, and some unfortunate soul nominates that damned Frog one.....it won't stay!

I did say "could be interesting especially if people just have a landline" ;-) I don't think you're the only one on here without a mobile phone, Duke? And I'm sure some people just use a default ringtone on their smartphones.
Edit: Mine's not on YouTube anyway, boo hoo :-(
Sorry Collette not sure what happened there didn’t mean to squeeze you ..."
Lol. I'm certain C's comment aimed at Brass was there when I went to listen to the playlist, but not the votes, which were added in between times.
