ABANDONED. Sci-Fi / Thriller. Set in Modern Day where the terrorists use Nanomachines

I read the book abroad in 2011 and i apologise with any inaccuracies. The beginning of the book had terrorists attack a music festival and the peoples skin started to melt. No one knew what had caused the attack, through the book you learn that it's nano-machines that are doing it but they are being used by some group to attack. I think towards the end of the book the main character (M) teamed up with a young girl who's grandmother was part of an old tribe or lineage and that this girl was the last one.

Possibly one of the Joe Ledger books by Jonathan Maberry? The King of Plagues came out in 2011.
