Please help me find this book series

book series about a preacher whom sexually assulted his step daughter/ daughter the mom step brother and sister kill him and bury him on the land they made it look like he disappeared they burried him on the land invistigators come in try to dig him up but only found dog bones the brother moved him to the attic at the end of the first book a cold case worker comes in. I've been trying find this series for years I only got to read the first one I think there is 3/4 of them. they are fiction. I can't remeber the character's names are the name of the books please help me
