SOLVED. YA Scifi series: Children of aliens battling their parents

The book series I believe was from the mid 90s to early 2000s, since I remember reading it during elementary school. It was a series of YA paperback books about kids in a town starting to develop weird abilities and quicksilver like blood, and it turned out they were the children of aliens who had left them there as sleeper agents. I think. Book was new-ish at the time, had new books coming out, but the series ended abruptly with no actual resolution. That's about all I've got. Thanks!

Found it! The series was Mind Warp by Chris Archer. I actually did vaguely remember that it had weird cover art and took place in Wisconsin. Weird.
