SOLVED. Poe-related Fiction

Possibly young adult. I was pretty sure the title was Daughter of Night and the author's first name was Elizabeth, but haven't had any luck with either of those. Read it while in high school, so published prior to late seventies, possibly 1975-ish.
Narrator is a thirteen year old girl whose much older cousin shows up to stay with her and her mother. Turns out he believes he's the reincarnation of Edgar A. Poe and the narrator is his destined (and doomed) wife-to-be. He kidnaps her. Think he kills himself rather than be caught.
I'd love to reread it. Appreciate any help..
