girl who drinks potion and turns into goose

When I was a child in the 1980's I read a book that was about a girl who was drinking a potion and she began to turn into a bird, I am almost positive that it was a goose. I remember one part of the book she started growing wings first and she hid them under a large sweatshirt. I loved that book but I have tried unsuccessfully for years to find what that book is. I grew up in the Boston area. I am not sure if that will help.

I think I may have read this book as well - I seem to recall there was a name Aurora involved - as in it was either the girl's name - or someone named Aurora gave her the potion (but I may be getting books confused) - I tried searching it up - I found "The Fledgeling" - I'm not sure if this is the right one in my mind - but maybe it's the one you are looking for?

I'm sure the one OP is looking for is Mail-Order Wings. The girl's name is Andrea. She drinks a potion and finds herself turning into a bird.

The Fledgling has flying and geese, but no potion.
