SOLVED. Children's or YA novel, can only remember the twist ending: girl has basically been raised as her twin sister her whole life, her twin (and also her parents I think) died when their car crashed into a tree (protagonist was also in crash). [s]

Also remember scene where she's looking at a recreation of the car crash and realizes that if she and her sister had switched seats in the car she would have been the one who died?

Sorry that I don't remember much! I'm fairly certain I read this in elementary school, so it would have been published sometime between 2004-2009, possibly a few years before. There may have also been a girl with short blonde hair on the cover, but I'm not too sure about that part, may be a different book. Thank you so much in advance!
