Joanna We watched a 1949 adaptation last night. It was a lot different than the book. We skipped some parts but there were some really funny scenes too, and she's been talking like that ever since. 🤣

Ruth (misselizabethbennett) | 2502 comments ☀Good morning everyone!☀

Today's quiz:
With success running in the family,
this N.E.L. author's father was a U.S.
senator. Who is our author?

By the way, does anyone know the
four cardinal virtues?🤔 I Hope so.

message 4425: by Pamela (new)

Pamela | 2209 comments Would this be a N.E. author from the 19th Century or the 20th Century? There are many choices if the author is contemporary. You are so good at this quiz game, Ruth! 🤔

Pamela | 2209 comments By the way, I do know the 4 Cardinal Virtues.😇 I do not always practice them, but I do know them!🤫 Some days it is easy to lose sight of said virtues!🧟‍♂️ LOL!

I want to say an Adams or a Kennedy. I "want" to say that, but will not yet. I need to ponder for a little while!😏 It may be someone else entirely!

I think it is more likely that Meg was the one left on our doorstep. She's the only one in our family who doesn't have dark hair.

Pamela | 2209 comments I have been running errands all morning and was thinking about the quiz. I remember reading that Emily Dickinson's father, Edward, was a politician in Massachusetts, but I thought he was a State Senator, not a U.S. Senator. That's the only N.E. author I could really think of who had a father in politics. I may have forgotten about whether he was a local or a U.S. senator, so I am going to go with Emily Dickinson. That's my final answer. 😁

That was a hyperbolic statement!
It was not a gross insult, rather a playful remark
about the difference in language in which you and
Meg speak.
