Arrrgh, I missed out on this one! I've been lost in the woods the last couple of hours...seriously! 😂 My dad and I visited Bowdoin College last winter. It was very moving for me to think that I was walking where Longfellow, Hawthorne, Franklin Pierce, and Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain had walked! We got to see a letter that Longfellow wrote home to his sister when he had just come to Bowdoin at age 16 and an original manuscript of his poem 'The Rainy Day'.

One day I shall like to see it.
Here is an article about Hawthorne and Pierce,
the final days of their friendship.

How did you get lost in your woods?
You must have been lost in your thoughts-
no pun intended.
Perhaps tying color yarn or ribbon as markers,
may be a good idea. I hope there weren't any
creatures about.

Hahaha! We'd never get Emma out there! 😂 I'm so baffled how it happened. I've been walking in those woods at least a few times a week for 2 years now so I know them well! (The whole story is now published in the chat thread, btw). 😄

Hannah,
What is your answer?

The answer is Mark Twain.
Twain’s importance to the Shakespeare Authorship Question cannot be overstated, as he is perhaps the most prominent writer to express open doubts that William Shakspere of Stratford was the author of the works of “William Shake-Speare.” The lack of any substantial historical evidence pointing to the man from Stratford, and Twain’s own familiarity with the use of a pseudonymous pen name, had him believing the Stratford story was a myth. He subsequently penned his views on the subject in his work,
"Is Shakespeare Dead?”

I would assume that would be you Emma since you guessed it.

Dates...never been my strong point.

I am surprised at you.
That is something Emma does.
