Oh, Allyson, I feel for you! I had to wear a brace on my right hand and wrist for 5 years! Severely injured tendons. It still hurts and my arm is still a bit deformed. I hope you heal quickly! Braces are uncomfortable!

I volunteered in a facility for those with alzheimer's disease and an elderly man attacked me, grabbed my lower arm and repeatedly beat my arm against the door frame. It took some time to subdue him, but the damage was done. He also ripped out a large hunk of my hair. It was terrifying and he snapped without warning. He didn't realize what he was doing, of course. That was 8 years ago.
