Sorry, it was a paraphrasing of a line from Hogan's Heroes. πŸ˜‚

Oh, I just wondered if you meant that I was right! 🀣 I highly doubt it. My sister said to say that one.

Ruth (misselizabethbennett) | 2502 comments Question: What was Thoreau doing when he caught his last illness?

If he sleeps like Pammy,
he was probably counting sheep.

It is an untraditional quiz.
We give our answers and continue

Hi Sarah...I can see how it would be confusing to someone just jumping in. As you can see we are very informal and sometimes spontaneous conversations arise. We're just here to have fun and learn along the way. 😊

Ruth (misselizabethbennett) | 2502 comments Yesterday we closed the day with
Meg's question,
What was Thoreau doing when he caught his last illness?

Catching up this morning, the quiz turns
a sharp corner to arguments over fishing
and Hogan's Heroes.
No wonder poor Sarah's confused.

After talking to Allyson, we've seen more of it than I thought. The only place we would've seen something like that was at my grandparent's house, and I remember it was really funny!

Wow, that is amazing! It was interesting how many of the actors actually had WWII experiences. Werner Klemperer's (actor for Klink) family was Jewish and fled to America if I remember right. Pretty sure the actors for General Burkholder and Major Hochstetler were Jewish as well. And Robert Clary (LeBeau) had been in a concentration camp and was the only survivor of his family.

I heard that! From their experiences, they wanted to play the parts and make the Nazis look silly.

I gave mine, but apparently it was incorrect, judging by Meggy's facepalm. Mine was "Playing his flute on the North River."

But...I did a quick, partial research about his last illness. There was a quote from his journal that said he went to the North River with his flute...I thought maybe he caught something from the night air!
