Emma | meadowroselibrary I'm officially in the corner

Haha! Did you cheat again!?

message 254: by Lily Rose (new)

Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments If I'm allowed to guess again, I would say either Longfellow or Noah Webster. If I'm not allowed to guess again, I will pretend I said nothing. And go to the corner with Emma.

Emma | meadowroselibrary Lol! I'm in the corner because yes, I cheated, because I asked Allyson to tell me the answer. But, no worries, I won't say a peep! (especially because I don't even remember the guys name...)

message 256: by Allyson (new)

Allyson Jamison | 170 comments I think you're aloud to guess as much as you want, I could be wrong though. Wrong again!😁 Both times!

Arg! Well, I'll just go down the list until I get it right! Nathaniel Hawthorn?

message 260: by Joanna (new)

Joanna I don't know who it was but I know who it wasn't, and it weren't Hawthorne! πŸ˜‚

message 261: by Joanna (new)

Joanna So it has to be someone whose works weren't published during his lifetime...I just can't think of anyone! Can you give any hints, Allyson? πŸ˜‹

Allyson Jamison | 170 comments Thank you Meg, reserve Hawthorne's honor.πŸ˜‰ He was proud to publish his works!

message 264: by Allyson (new)

Allyson Jamison | 170 comments Hmm, I think he wrote mostly poetry

message 265: by Allyson (new)

Allyson Jamison | 170 comments If not only poetry, I don't want to say that positively though.

Haha!! Yes that was some Kerfuffle for sure! 🀣🀣 I'll say from experience, if I were you I'd either just go and hide while you can, or have a nice hard book for protection. 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀭

message 292: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Hannah wrote: "BUT WHOEVER THIS AUTHOR'S FAMILY WAS, THEY SURE DIDN'T LISTEN VERY WELL!!!"

It would sure be a difficult decision to make, supposing that one felt his works were worthy of publication and maybe the author himself didn't realize their own merits.
