I'm going to give you one more hint. It just about gives away the answer...especially if you Google it. I don't care if you do. Since the hint includes the President's name, there will be no extra credit emojis. Who wrote it? By the way, Garfield was the last U.S. President to be born in a log cabin. I have always admired him for all that he accomplished. He was the second U.S. President to be assassinated. Research if you want to. The Early Bird will get the worm for this question. They always do....but the Second Mouse gets the cheese! I did some research last night because it was driving me crazy! 😂 The author is Horatio Alger Jr. I don't think I've even heard of him before, although I feel sure I've heard of 'Ragged Dick'. 😃
You are correct! He was well known, which has always amazed me. He was a minister, accused of some terrible things, resigned from the ministry amidst scandal, then went on to gain fame by writing about boys. Rags to riches stories. The scandal involved young boys, which is why it is unbelievable to me that he went on to achieve such fame for his writing.In any case, you win! CONGRATULATIONS MEG!!!
