Wondering about Alcott and Thoreau got me thinking about authors I would have felt that way about. Not all New England writers. I think some of the most handsome, to my eyes anyway, would be: Jack Kerouac, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner and C.S. Lewis. Not that it matters. Just thinking about it.πPammy Jo

The biographer who mentioned it talked about when he was her schoolteacher, but she would have been only 7 years old!
