What was your answer about the
library book?

Emma | meadowroselibrary Dorothy wrote: "All right, here's your question!

What New England author became ill and died, at age 66, of bronchial pneumonia?"

Is this a man or a woman?

Emma | meadowroselibrary Ruth wrote: "Me too! πŸ€—

I thought you might. πŸ€—
"I would insist that they return the books in person, no ifs, ands, or buts." πŸ˜‚

Well, that's a pity. Now it's up to Emma and Pammy. Where, oh where is our Pammy Jo? Where, oh where did she go?!"

She's probably listening to Willie
Nelson or reading Jane Austen's
Emma.

Delivered series?
I love that series.
It's a shame the network cancelled
the series

We've watched all the episodes, and we've already watched the 3rd movie, so we're going to go back and watch the 2nd movie, but we have no access to it, so we have it on hold through the library. We absolutely love it!! You've seen them all, right?

Yay! I'm starting to wonder if we're all just like Jane Eyre, or if that's the only answer they give out...πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

Ruth (misselizabethbennett) | 2502 comments Yes, I have.
It's a series I never get tired
of watching.
The stories are do sweet,
I wish Hallmark would make
more like it, it's good and descent.
I really enjoyed the Road Trip movie.

Pamela | 2209 comments In answer to the quiz question, I know Walt Whitman died of pneumonia, but he was older. I don't know.

Have any of you read it?

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of Hallmark movies, they're all the same and just too modern for my liking, but this has been very good and not like normal Hallmark movies. I'm sure I'll never get tired of watching them, either!! πŸ˜‚

Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments I'm about to sign off too, but just wanted to say I seem to be the odd duck, this time. Supposedly I'm Sherlock Holmes...Not sure how that came to be!

I can't believe I stumped Pammy Jo! Maybe it will come to her in the morning when she's brushing her teeth.

message 9174: by Lily Rose (new)

Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments Emma, this author was a woman.

message 9175: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 14 comments I took that quiz...the options weren’t very accurate to my feelings, but I tried to pick the closest. This is what I got.

YOUR RESULTS:
Iβ€˜m Mr. Knightley
Your ability to think clearly and sensibly, combined with your discerning common sense, helps you to get to the crux of any issue. While you are honest, you’re not β€œhonest to a fault.” You have a unique ability to confront severe problems or people without being overbearing. Because of your tact and kindhearted practicality, people will listen to you, even when you say something that they don’t want to hear. Your judgment and sense of right action earn you respect. However, you should know that your overall good sense isn’t wholly unshakable. People close to you can make you temporarily lose your clear-sightedness because your care for them is an even stronger emotion that your desire to be reasonable.

Pamela | 2209 comments Here's my Quiz question...a two-part answer is required:

This author wrote a book that was very popular during a war. The author was of Mayflower ancestry and traced their lineage directly back to Governor Bradford. Name the author and their most famous book.

message 9181: by Lily Rose (new)

Lily Rose Dorothea | 1454 comments I don't know, so I'm going to give my classic answer. Louisa May Alcott, Little Women.

I'm going to say that is not correct.πŸ˜€Keep guessing. If necessary, I will give hints later.πŸ€—

Emma | meadowroselibrary I'll bet Ruth knows. πŸ˜€

Pamela | 2209 comments Another hint: One film adaptation of the novel won an Academy Award. It was a "special award" rather than a standard Oscar.

Emma | meadowroselibrary Hmmmm...my only other guess would be Kate Douglas Wiggin, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

The last ever Juvenile Oscar given out at the Academy Awards was presented to the star of the film adaptation of the novel in question. It is the only Oscar ever won by that person.

And that's all I have to say about that!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜Š
