I have no clue what the answer is to this one!

When I was a child, almost everybody I knew would say "You're a poet and you don't know it, but your feet show it. They're long fellows!" We were a strange bunch of kids who also said "Don't step on the crack or you'll break your mother's back" when we walked on the sidewalk...and the most awful of them all was our jump rope chant: "Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks. Took the axe when she was done and gave her father 41! How many whacks did Lizzie Borden take?" We then proceeded to count our jumps!!! 😳😱 I almost forgot, we also said "Mr. Lincoln, I've been thinkin', what in the world have you been drinkin'? Is it beer? Is it wine? Oh, no! It's turpentine!" Yup, my friends and I were a bunch of wackadoodles! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ€ͺ
Pammy Jo
P.S. I guess I haven't changed all that much! LOL!!!πŸ™ƒπŸ€«

Pamela | 2209 comments Did any of you ever say this as a kid?

"I went to the dam to get some dam water, but the dam man said I couldn't have his dam water; so I told the dam man he could keep his dam water!"

We, of course, thought that was so cool. We were not swearing at all, but it drove our parents nuts! What's wrong with talking about a dam?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜†
