Game: What's The Name of This Book?
You got it... Ender's Game was a great book, as was it's sequel Ender in Exile... I read the Bean series... which was the four books on the other side of ender's story... never did get around to reading the speaker of the dead/hedgemon/children books (sorry... this post came late)
Steven > I read only Ender's Game, Speaker and Xenocide. I really like how deep Card's stories are. I'm adding Ender in Exile in my to-read ;)
Adriana > yes :)
Adriana > yes :)
I got too much excited because I didn't get AT ALL the first time I read the summary :PThis one is about two young stage magicians that, after a tragic incident, become rivals, trying to outsmart and expose each others tricks.
If it's what I am thinking of, there was a movie that was based off of that. Good movie. Didn't realize they made a book of it.
Yes, you got it! You should read the book, if you enjoyed the movie! This was one of the rare cases in which I saw the movie first and then read the book :)
I was thinking I'll have to add it to my list, because I really did like the movie! Hmm. I have a feeling I'm going to be terrible at this but I'll try.
A book about the 'forgotten' sister, who had an affair with a king, before her sister marries him.
Next A book and a movie an older one A young girl is abandoned in a remote area wth a relative then used for monetary gain. She finally gets back to where she had been abandoned to enjoy life and a sense of belonging.
Don't be, some books are easier to find than others :)
The summary is ringing some bells for me, but A Little Princess didn't seem to fit with the family thing. So I looked at Pollyanna because of the aunt. And ended with Heidi who has a aunt, a grandfather and a Peter :p
I think I did the tour of the animated series with young girls from my childhood :D

Wow, I wasn't sure :)
Okay. Easy one, so short and obscur summary :p
It's the story of a boy. He lives in a city with many rules but no love.

So this is a book about two different groups of people in society, those who have money and those who do not. An altercation occurs between the main character (who has a very unusual name) and a friend who does not have money and are from the poor part of town and those in high society who do have money. The story then follows the journey of this character trying to escape the actions of him and his friend, but ends up returning home to his two brothers in the end.
I like that one too, and the movie :)Okay, I'll try to not do another obscure one lol.
A young girl cuts off her hair and takes her brother's place to become a knight while he goes and studies to be a wizard.

Yeah, I loved that series too.Okay, a baker at a small time diner is kidnapped, dressed in a red ballgown, and chained in a room with a starving vampire.
My mind first went to the Sookie Stackhouse novels but she wasn't really a baker and I don't think she got chained in with a starving vampire. Hmmm....Lol Zaz, you make me giggle :)
Sorry, not Sookie or the sparkly ones. :-) This is a standalone book that is set in a world where everyone knows about the Others because of the Voodoo wars.Another hint would be the author won the Newbery award for one of her books (not this one).
Hm. A retired military man goes back to Vietnam to investigate an old case, on the pretense of vacationing, where he learns that not everything was as it seemed.
this is a great topic, i love it! i'm loving seeing these short & sweet summaries that get to the heart of the matter so fast. for example, despite seeing "Brave New World" on thrift shop shelves for years and years, I actually had no idea what it was about, and since it always looks so imposing, I have never even tried it. But with the short summary I saw here, I can tell it is quite the sort of book I usually enjoy, so now I'm inspired. Thanks! :-)
Great Karbyn :) I read Brave New World several times, it's an interesting book (I like old sci-fi because you see how some people imagined the future which is our past/present now).
Kayla > I think we need a hint. Your summary is pretty complete, but the book is obviously not in our comfort zone :)

John Travolta played the main character-albeit in the movie adaptation of a different book. The old case was a death that occurred during the war, but is now considered to be possibly a murder.Sorry, not very good at this.
Cool. Okay how about: An innocent man escapes prison by switching places with a corpse in a body bag that is flung over a cliff into the water below. Once on shore, he begins to enact his plans for revenge against those that betrayed him.
Sorry, missed the first response :).My summary: A discredited journalist and a legally incapable genius are trying to solve a murder that turns out to not be a murder after all.
