FBI Agent Noah Armstrong needed some convincing that Kate and/or Lucy had nothing to do with Roger Morton’s murder. He was also convinced that Lucy probably wasn’t fit to be accepted into the Bureau. Was he being too judgmental or just doing his job?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments He was only looking at reports and there were no flesh and blood people factored into his judgments. Until he actually met Kate and Lucy he only had black and white reports to base his judgment on. Once he got to know them, he changed his mind.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 109 comments I agree with everything you said Anita. On paper Lucy's past should be a big red flag but once you get to know her and her determination and drive everyone including Armstrong realizes assumptions can be very incorrect.

He does come across judgmental though. Also, abrasive and unfeeling.

While it should have been protocol to look at those with motives to kill Roger, it was Noah’s strong bias that rankled me. He had to be talked down in spite of the evidence that made them unlikely suspects.

Regarding Lucy’s suitability for the Bureau, Noah writing her off so easily was highly unfair, especially since he hadn’t even met her. He lacked objectivity here and throughout the investigation. I was not impressed with this guy.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I wasn't thrilled with Noah throughout this book. He jumped to conclusions too often.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I gave Noah some leeway because he didn't know Kate, Lucy or the other Kincaids. Kate can be a bit hotheaded and that can be taken wrong. I give him credit for listening to everyone and not jumping to fast. I agree, Karen. He did jump to conclusions a lot and was very pushy about it. That's a good way to describe him, Christina. Abrasive.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I wasn't overly impressed with Noah, either. He didn't improve a whole lot for me over the course of the story.

Me either, Charlene.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I am not a Noah fan at all. He is the worse type of misogynist in my opinion. Blame the woman, then when she does the job try and smooth things over with an apology. He rubbed me the wrong way through the whole story.
