Truman and Ollie’s rescue was treacherous and dangerous. Your thoughts about these scenes?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Nicely written and although we knew as readers that Truman would get through it, it did add some drama over all.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree Lisa. I knew Truman would survive, but I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time. Can you imagine being injured and sick while walking miles and miles in the dark during a cold rain? I can't.

For me it wasn’t about whether he would survive but the toll it might take to do so. The author doesn’t seem to mind hurting her characters, often cruelly. Nothing was predictable, which added to my tension.

I thought the writing was exceptional as I could vividly see the terrain and feel the pain and agony. I hurt for Truman. Well done.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I agree with everyone. Truman and Ollie's escape is well written. It made me tense, even though I knew Truman was going to make it. I did wonder if he was going to have any long term disability after.

The author did a good job - great descriptive scene of their escape & long trek back to Ollie's cabin.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Yes, Sharon. The description and tension of these scenes had my heart pounding, at least figuratively. My goodness, though, I couldn't put the book down.

I meant to say I COULD vividly see...

Autocorrect can be a killer.
