A heavy rainstorm unearths the grim discovery of an entire murdered family. It is eerily similar to the murders of two families ten years ago. As you learned more information, did you think “copycat” or “wrong man convicted?”

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Really glad to start the discussion questions, thanks Jonetta.

I didn't have any strong feelings either way. Just enjoyed letting Mercy and Truman guide me through the investigation. I did wonder the association between the Sovereign Citizens to the murders though as why would the author throw this in if it wasn't relevant to the investigations. Red herring.. or somehow involved?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I thought it was going to be a copycat or partner of the guy arrested for the original crime.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I was heading towards a copy cat.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments It crossed my mind that the wrong man was behind bars, but I couldn't figure out why there was a twenty year gap between murders.

I thought a combination of wrong man convicted and copycat with the help of the guy convicted. I needed to learn more about Grady. When his brother turned up as having stalked Britta's whereabouts, I leaned towards the latter. Blew it by eating that red herring.

I wasn't sure - just settled in to follow the evidence along with Mercy & Truman. I did wonder if the wrong man was convicted or if he was guilty, had he recruited a "copycat" killer.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I think I was with Sandra on this one: read along to see how it worked out.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 109 comments I was going towards the wrong guy from the beginning...I'm not sure what pushed me that direction at first. Since we kept getting insight into the mind of an abused child I suspected he was involved...whomever he was but I never suspected he was essentially a copycat.
