Lahni | 660 comments How are you liking Fall of Giants? I've heard mixed things and don't want to read such a big book if I'm going to be disappointed. Do you think it's up to snuff with pillars and world's?

I like it, but it is a bit of a harder read for me. There are so many different stories that Mr. Follett is weaving together that initially I had trouble with remembering them all. The story involves events in Russia, Germany, Britain, and the United States. Each storyline is interesting with well-drawn characters, but, by the time I start getting into one story, he is off to another.

I am so close to finishing it (and it is on one of my old LOST lists) that I will keep reading.

Ladies... I wonder if you've heard that the third book in the series is due to be released in 3 weeks' time?

A Column of Fire (Kingsbridge #3)

You're welcome ;p

I'm still plowing through the first book, which I hope to have done by the end of August. My problem? Not enough reading time for it.

Aw, I got all excited. Didn't read which thread this was, and I thought somehow, you meant the third of the Kingkiller chrdonicles. This is good news, too, though. Thanks. I got on the library hold list as only the 10th person there. By the time it's actually released, there'll be hundreds.

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments I haven't read the first book yet. Is it good?

Oh, I did the same, obviously, Susan. Sorry. I read book two (World Without End) for some reason but have never read the first book (The Pillars of the Earth). Guess I will still pass on this one.
