I would rate this book a 3 star novel. I say this because it was very touching but also depressing. Usually, I like books about animals, but this one was very sad. It was touching because the animals were very kind to each other and it was very descriptive at the happy parts. But it was depressing because I felt that the animals were not treated with respect. I would recommend this book to people who can handle reading about sad things, but this book was at an easier reading level, so if reading is not your specialty, this might be the book for you.
