M.J. Newman (feonix) | 17 comments Greetings,

I have tried five times now to claim my author page, and each and every time I receive the following message: "Your application to the Goodreads Author Program has unfortunately not been successful. This is most likely because you haven’t supplied us with enough information to verify that you are the author." There's no specific information about what I have failed to provide, and I am certain I've provided everything that I need to provide in order to claim my author page: several e-mails, two twitter accounts, my facebook account, the Kickstarter page for my novel The Key and the Crescent that shows that it was successfully funded, and a wealth of other information that prove that I am the author and that the book is being successfully self-published. My understanding is that there is no requirement that the book be *released*, just that it is to be published in the future, which mine is (in August).

I'm extremely frustrated. I've tried this over and over again to no avail, and the e-mail simply lists all of the things I am already providing, with no personalized explanation for why I keep getting rejected.

I understand that the Librarians Group has no control over this and it's a different group that accepts or denies authors, but I'm hoping I can at least get some kind of explanation, or perhaps you can help me get in contact with somebody who can help me. Is there anything you can do? I would be happy to provide any additional information that can prove my identity if it means being able to finally claim my author page.

Thank you.

Emily | 17603 comments We don't have a connection to Goodreads staff apart from the Contact Us link just like everyone else. We can't give you any explanation because we honestly don't have insight into it.
My advice is to contact them directly rather than using the author claim page.
