The cover had just the title of the book in big letters, I remember it being called BSRK in all caps but obviously it’s something else, it’s a young adult book that I found in a high school library in 2019, I think it was published 2008-2012, definitely no earlier than 2006, though it could have been later. There’s a plane crash in like the prologue where one of the main character’s older brother dies (they crash into a sports stadium and kill tons of people). There was this one guy with a nickname like “the Master “ or “the King” or something in that vein, and he was like a master of controlling the microbes. Also he used them to mind control this girl into being his girlfriend. The main protagonists were a generic boy and the sister of the rich girl, and they have to work for a mysterious agency to link their minds to microbes inside of people and then control them, the mis ones are like biological robots and sometimes they use them to fight other people’s microbes. If one dies while you’re linked to it you go crazy. Also there was this goth punk girl who was mean to everybody, but she was the best character because she was the only one who ever expressed any positive emotions other than lust. I am 100% sure it had a male author, I believe named something generic like William Johnson. I think the girl protagonist was British. The main guy and main girl have a VERY boring romance. Please help me, I used to be able to find this book easily but now it’s like it vanished off the face of the earth.
