I read the 1st day of this today, which was the first 20 pages. I think I'm going to post spoilers after each day, since the book is divided into 7 days.

I've read the 2nd day as well now, and this book is doing a great job of sucking me in. It's a hard one to put down.

Hallelujah (view spoiler)[Obviously, she was having a hard time on the trip with everyone bullying her, but lashing out at Rachel was a bit harsh, since Rachel was the one person who was being nice to her. I think Hallie realized that, though, which makes it a bit better. (hide spoiler)]

Rachel (view spoiler)[I am glad she was forgiving to Hallie even after what Hallie said and that she seems to still want to be friends with her. (hide spoiler)]

Jonah (view spoiler)[I wonder what went down with him freezing Hallie out, and why he did that. He was clearly a good friend of hers before, but whatever happened with Luke ended that for some reason. (hide spoiler)]

So I started this a day early thinking I would just read a little bit today so I would make sure I finished before a buddy read that I have on March 7th, but now I can't put it down. I'm through day 3 now, and loving this book.

Jonah/Hallie (view spoiler)[That fight that they had was pretty intense and they obviously both got out a lot of feelings that they needed to let out. (hide spoiler)]

survival (view spoiler)[The survival aspect of this story is pretty scary since there's a lot of bad stuff happening to them. There's the rain, and the poison ivy, and the sprained ankle. They need something good to happen to them, like being rescued. (hide spoiler)]

Rachel (view spoiler)[I love how caring she is to Hallie, and how she is there for her to talk to. And she has baggage too from her parent's divorce. It sounds awful to have parents fighting over getting to be the one who doesn't have to keep you. (hide spoiler)]

Yep, I'm glad too. I hope you love it too. It's a quick read so far, in my opinion.

I finished the 4th day. That was a pretty intense day.

faith (view spoiler)[I thought the faith-related stuff was interesting in this chapter. The whole thoughts about what God's plan is with letting them be lost in the woods is interesting and something to really think about. And then there's Rachel's perspective, which is that He either doesn't exist or doesn't care about her. (hide spoiler)]

Jonah (view spoiler)[I'm glad he admitted he has feelings for Hallie. Hopefully something will happen with them. (hide spoiler)]

Luke (view spoiler)[He is such a jerk. He wants to sleep with Hallie, but then he lies and claims that it was all her idea. I feel like he may have ended up raping her if people hadn't walked in on them. (hide spoiler)]

Rachel (view spoiler)[The bathing in the cold lake probably wasn't a good idea, and it clearly didn't work out too well for her since she got hypothermia. (hide spoiler)]

I finished the 5th day now. Wow, this group has so many bad things happen to them, and it really is a harrowing journey.

Hallie (view spoiler)[I can see why she is a bit conflicted about her feelings for Jonah. Hopefully they can work things out, since it seems like her feelings for him do exist. (hide spoiler)]

Jonah (view spoiler)[His injury seems pretty bad. I feel like they need to get rescued so that it can be cleaned so that he doesn't get infected from his cut. (hide spoiler)]

Rachel (view spoiler)[Her hypothermia seems to have left some residual effects, and she definitely doesn't seem to be doing too well now. (hide spoiler)]

I finished the 6th day.

Hallie (view spoiler)[I'm so glad she was able to go find help, and that she insisted that the people she found went back and got Rachel and Jonah too. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished this, and I loved it so much. It was a quick read, and I was so invested in the stories of the three main characters.

and I want to know why he can use all these girls and no one cares - everyone thinks he's amazing

I agree about Hallie and Luke (view spoiler)[that it wasn't right that he got off with no punishment while she was punished for what happened. It really shows the double standard that exists with what boys can do versus what girls can do. (hide spoiler)]

I won't be able to start this until next week. The book I had at the library waiting for me somehow got sent back so I had to reorder it...so mad!!!

That's annoying that they sent it back when the copy was there waiting for you.

I know! They have messed up a lot! I returned a book once to the book bin and it was brand new but they didn't record it as returned. I told them that I had put it in the book bin with another book that was due and that I had to return it because it was waiting for another person to pick it up. I thought maybe they had given it to that other person and forgotten to market as returned for me, but she said they had no record of the book being in the library or checked out. Needless to say I never returned any books to the book been anymore. I took it right up to the counter. Then a couple of times I checked out some books and one of them maybe two but one for sure was a Link+ book which is a $115 charge if it's lost. So I got home and check to make sure which books I had to make sure that the ones I returned were recorded in any new ones were on there as well. One day there were two books they hadn't checked out to me even though I watched them scan them so I went right back to the library because I was afraid that somehow it would be recorded in the system that I didn't them and that they would charge me $115 and there was another time I walked right out with three books that didn't show up as being checked out from my regular library. So easy to steal them if you're a thief!

Oh my, it sounds like returning books can be pretty complicated at your library. At mine, I always just put them in the bin, and I've never had any issues with that before.
