I found this book in 2019 and it is about a group of kids who use special cameras to make clouds and fire and water with there minds. The lab gets broken into and their gear is destroyed and i think someone gets kidnapped. At the end one of the kids creates a giant tornado.

oh shiiiiiit. I know what book you're talking about. I just don't...remember the title either. Damn.

From what I remember, the main character was a boy, and he was friends(?) with the lightning girl on the cover. I think some people in the club/organization had a thing called a "locus" that didn't really give you or power the superpowers, but kind of helped you be more confident with them as a sort of mind trick. The boy had a locus but the girl insisted on learning to use the superpowers without them.
