I don't use Instagram or I might. I don't even have an account. The only social media that I actually regularly use or post to is here at GR. I have FB and Twitter; go to FB to see others maybe twice a month, twitter even less. When someone sends a FB message, I have to sign into FB and go to message and I ask them not to as they are making it more and more difficult to "find" the PM without installing their app software. I find it invasive. If I cannot do it through a browser, I don't.
Google search is making it hard to SEARCH, just search without PROVING you are not a robot! I use a VPN and if it is off, Google works normal, on and Google tries to make me jump through hoops. I quit using their search on my computer, on my phone OK as it is a Google phone but my computer uses DuckDuckGo, I've started using DuckDuckGo browser on my phone too.
When I was traveling, I sent an email of my email boarding pass from my yahoo main to my google mail. The QR scan code of the boarding pass was in the body of the mail only, the subject was from me, tomorrow. or something like that. Google within a minute sent me ads for my "trip to NEW YORK" and hotels, etcetera. This was creepy as I re-looked to make sure nothing was in the subject line! So they had to actually go to the body of my email to find this information.
If you don't think that should be illegal, then you don't understand freedom. Mail (including email), phone conversations (including text, VOiP (phones through Comcast and Verizon), cell phones, and websites that you visit, should be protected and only shared when you share. What you buy on Amazon should stay "in house" and not be sold to the porn shop when you buy a freaking dildo. People should take a good look at 1984 and realize that it just took time to get here!
So... my rant on a dead thread, promoting Instagram (which might be better than some). So IGreads might be great, hope it works out. If anyone has good experience with it, let us know. Booksites that are not Amazon owned (GR) are always nice. Especially since all the others seem to be bought out (GR & bookdepository, etc...) or put out of business (FictFact). I'm still not joining Instagram, just one too many for me.
