My sister-in-law has started blogging about her work as a book designer. Her inaugural post offers tips for people wanting to design their own book cover. She's done a couple of my books, and they look much better than my own feeble efforts, so the lady speaks much sense!

Useful post and just the right length. If there are any people in the Author Zone who haven't come across the Book Designer (he's on Twitter as @JFBookman), he runs a monthly cover design competition for e-books only. It's worth checking on, for both fiction and non-fiction books. You may not agree with the verdicts (I often don't) but they're thought-provoking.

Thanks - Rachel is now well into her freelancing career and she's enjoying working with independent authors much more than her previous roles with the big five/six/whatever and other large publishers.
