Hello all! This is my first time using this thread, and I hope somebody here can help!

I read this adult novel sometime between 2015-2018. It was a fairly modern book, published sometime in the 2000s for sure, and the story's events took place in the 2000s as well. The cover was dark blue. I don't remember much of the storyline, but it was a murder mystery, and the main character was the investigating cop. The description for the book contained the line, "in an abandoned cabin, a child's toy phone starts ringing, with a phone call from the dead." This is the most distinctive identifying feature I can remember, unfortunately, but that line is word-for-word (or very close to it).

I know this isn't a ton of information to work with, but if anyone happens to recognize that line of description, I would seriously appreciate you! It has been driving me crazy recently. Thank you :)

This description isn't exact, but the line about the toy phone ringing sounds like it could be from The Woman in the Woods by John Connolly?
