We had to put up with a lot in the 60s and 70s, but my job was never threatened. There were lots of innuendos but U was not propositioned directly.
Prior to securing a position in a hospital lab as a medical technologist, I worked at a HometownMission Agency. The director, who was a reverend(married with three teenage kids) "took a liking to me". No touchy-feely stuff but he got quite perturbed at one point with an apparent lack of response on my part . He had the good sense to let the Board Director know there was a problem--his side of the story. The answer was to recommend that I leave. So I pursued a a lab position at a local hospital and was hired.
Sue, that is terrible! I want to think in this day and age that this kind of treatment would not happen any more. I hope the "up side" for you was finding the lab position and pursing a field that you care about.
