I read One Hundred Years of Solitude with this group and liked it. I may try to read this one, but I don’t know if I have the focus to follow it at the moment.

I was probably going to read it eventually, but I found a copy in Spanish and since I needed practice over the summer anyway, I thought it was perfect timing to start reading with the group.
A few years ago, I decided to read the top 100 books on BBC's "The Big Read" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big...). "Love in the Time of Cholera" is on that list and I haven't gotten around to reading it so far - so here we go. :-)This will be the second book by Garcia Marquez for me - I read Chronicle of a Death Foretold a few years back and liked it. Looking forward to reading another of his novels and also to reading what others think about the book.
I read this several years ago. While I was reading it, I thought it was boring and slow, but when I finished it I found that the narrative and the characters stayed with me. GGM's writing is beautiful, and the story of the star-crossed lovers is really an excuse for him to write about all the different kinds of love, and how and why "love" is so difficult to define. I will re-read this one again someday.
I read one hundred years of solitude before and I didn't like it at all but i heard from my friend who also didn't like that book that love in the time of cholera is a good one and when I noticed we are reading it in this group I joinded the reading.
