June 2020 Tasks

One Point Tasks

1.1 AT NARNIA
Read a book whose Author's LAST name initial is in the name ASLAN.
BONUS POINT: Read a book whose Author 's FIRST name initial is in the name CASPIAN.

1.2 SEEING DOUBLE
Read a book that has double letters in its title (no sub- titles) AND double letters in Author's name.
e. g. All Adults Here by Emma Straub

Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner

Author: double letters: N

1.3 VEGETABLE GARDEN
Complete one of the following tasks:
BONUS POINT: If you choose a second vegetable.

a. RADISHES
Read a book with a predominately (50%+) RED cover (show cover).
b. CROOKNECK SQUASH
Read a book with a predominately (50%+) YELLOW cover (show cover).
c. CUCUMBERS
Read a book with a predominately (50%+) GREEN cover (show cover).
d. EGG PLANT
Read a book with a predominately (50%+) PURPLE cover (show cover).
e. CARROT
Read a book with a predominately (50%+) ORANGE cover (show cover).

1.4 JUNE: 6th MONTH OF THE YEAR
Choose one of the following tasks:

b. Read a book with a 6 in its page count
(e.g. 360, 266, 612, etc.....)
c. Read a published in a year with a 6.
(e.g. 2006, 1968, 2016, etc....) State year.

1.5 THE POWER OF ONE WORD
June's word is SUMMER
Read a book with the word SUMMER in the title (no sub-titles) -OR- a book with the word in the text. List page # & give sentence word is in.

1.6 WINED & DINED
It's nice to see many eateries opening back up again.
Read a book set in a cafe, restaurant, or pub. Give name of eatery.

1.7 (Tessa's task) JUNE WEDDINGS
Read a book with a wedding in it. If not obvious from the book's main page please explain how your book fits.

Two Point Tasks

2.1 WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Read 2 books
Wheel of Fortune is a time-set task. You will have a week to choose & display your books before the wheel is spun and task is closed.
Go to Wheel of Fortune task for futher instructions.

2.2 VACATION TIME
Read 2 books

Read 2 books where the MC is going on vacation.
List the type of vacation & the forms of transportion.
for example: Vacation: Road Trip - Car; Vacation: Alaskan Cruise - plane

2.3 (Bethany's task) EAT A LITTLE, MOVE AROUND A LOT
Read 2 books

Summer is when I try to work on myself a little bit, including trying to get healthy. I try to work with this phrase, so

1. EAT A LITTLE
Read a book with food on the cover, a type of food in the title or FOOD as a genre.

2. MOVE AROUND A LOT
Read a book where the title contains a form of movement.
ex. A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail or The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism

2.4 (Bethany's task) THE STRANGEST TIMELINE
Read 2 books
2020 has been a big ol'mess so far.

1. Read a book with genre DYSTOPIA or HORROR on the main page.

2. Either do a little "light" reading
Read a book between 100 and 300 pages -- to unwind stress -OR- read a book with the genre SOCIAL JUSTICE to inspire positive action.

Three Point Task

3.1 (Tessa's task) FATHER'S DAY
Read 3 books

Oh,I miss my Daddy. Always loved spending time with him celebrating what a good father he was. This task is in honor of him..

1. My father was one of 9 siblings (!), so I had lots of aunts and uncles (and cousins) ---
Read a book in which a sibling plays an important part in the plot /or/ an aunt or uncle is featured (explain how your book fits).

2. Daddy was raised on a farm --
Read a book with a farm animal on the cover (sorry, no dogs and cats for this one, even though they are usually found ON a farm, they aren't typically being raised as a farm product).

3. My father loved ice cold beer or piping hot coffee --
Read a book with a beer /or/ coffee on the COVER (Post the cover).


Five Point Task

5.1 SEA SHELLS
Read 5 books

Let's beachcomb for some lovely shells.
Spell-out one of the all-capped words below.

Lettered OLIVE
Lightning WHELK
Cross-barred VENUS

• use first letter of title (exclude A, An, or The)
• or use Author's initials - first/last name
