I love the country house setting and the murder on the doorstep. But this wasn't what I'd call a tight mystery. It had the requisite cast of characters but I just didn't connect with any of them, especially the Russian Countess, who was way over the top, even for an imposter. And I couldn't buy that Lennox, a war veteran, would pick up the gun and stand there with it in his hand. I remember saying, 'What?!' in my head at that scene!
