Okay, okay, I know June has only started, but I always place the poll for the next month pretty early so people have a chance to get the book that wins.

For this month, I thought I'd ask you guys what we should read. So please read:

1) Pretty simple, just comment the book you think should be on the poll of July. Please only comment 1 or 2. I know some book are on the YA/NA border, and those are fine.

2) If you see someone else comment a book you want as well, be sure to second that so I can get a feel for what books are most popular.

3) I might not include all the books as the poll will contain 10 books with a variety of genres.

But any other popular book I can always move it to the next month!

Thanks,
Queenoffaerie xxx

Reen (keydevera) | 19 comments I’m honestly down to read whatever for next month but may I suggest a monthly theme for our books for the upcoming months? 😊 Like maybe in July we could do cute contemporaries or romances (like Beach Read, Get A Life Chloe Brown, or The Life and Medieval Times of Kit Sweetly) since we’ve had 2 fantasies (House of Earth and Blood and now Sorcery of Thorns) the past months. Just a suggestion, though. 😊

Sure. I think we'll keep it open for July, then from August onwards I can start rotating themes around :)

Karina Flores (karina_celine) Serpent and dove
This savage song
I’ve heard a lot of good things about both

Domitylle (can only update books rn. sorry) (dom_brlw) | 65 comments Maybe Tara Duncan and the Spellbinders, it's the first book of an amazing series but it isn't really well known so I thought it would be a good thing for people to discover it :)

message 9: by Karina (new)

Karina Flores (karina_celine) Just saw you already have serpent and dove. So Call down the Hawk is supposed to be a good one

yeah, but to be able to read call down the hawk, i'm pretty sure you have to read the raven boys first

message 11: by Karina (new)

Karina Flores (karina_celine) It says that it’s a completely new series. Like it doesn’t stem from her other books like the shiver series or the raven boys.

message 12: by Talia (new)

Talia (talia_kennedy_) I’ve heard great things about The Starless Sea, by Erin Morgestern

message 13: by Talia (new)

Talia (talia_kennedy_) Never mind - just realized it’s an adult novel!

call down the hawk it's part of a new series, yes, but it is set in the same world as the raven cycle. and it follows ronan as a main character, who is also kinda of main character in the raven cycle.

Any suggestions for YA crime/romance/LGBT+?

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is a fantastic murder mystery stand alone

message 16: by Karina (new)

Karina Flores (karina_celine) That looks like a good book !

Adela wrote: "Yeah I agree with Lucy's opinion on Call Down The Hawk. I think it'd be a good idea to wait until we've all read TRC so we can sort of have an idea of Ronan in CDTH."

So does anyone actually wanna read the Raven Cycle?

message 18: by Reen (new)

Reen (keydevera) | 19 comments For YA mystery I would suggest Sadie or The 7 1/2 of Evelyn Hardcastle. For an LGBT+ book Song of Achilles. 😊

Spriya | 242 comments For LGBTQ+, Shaun David Hutcherson books are amazing.
We Are the Ants
At the Edge of the Universe
Those two are my favorites.

His books aren't totally romance, they're somewhat supernatural/alien-ish. They aren't very straightforward either, they kind of mess with your logic. I'm really bad at explaining this lol. But they're one of those books that, if you enjoy it, they stay with you for a long time.
And yes! I was actually planning on reading the Raven cycle, I just put a hold on the entire series from the library.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) Perhaps Truly Devious if we’re going for a mystery?
