belle 💋 (belleperdue) hey everyone!

i'm excited to announce the voracious readers very first read a thon ! it is very impromptu, but being stuck at home i don't think anyone really has anything better to do haha.

the read a thon will last from june 1 (tommorrow) to august 1.

here are the parameters for the five different books that you should read :

🌞 one: a book that makes you happy !

this can be an all time favorite, a book correlating with your interests, or anything that you love.

🌊 two: a book cover that is mostly blue !

examples are mockingjay, catch-22, the fault in our stars, the lost hero, etc.

🌴 three: read a book under 200 pages !

pretty self explanatory, some examples are the great gatsby, of mice and men, animal farm, candide, etc.

🐚 four: a book from an author you've never read before !

i can't really give any recommendations because everyone has read different books, but go outside your comfort zone ! maybe read something from a genre that you usually wouldn't.

🍹 five: read a thriller or horror novel !

there's so many options with this, so get creative ! remember this read a thon is a chance to read new books, so get outside of your comfort zone.

let's share what books you all are planning on reading !

here are mine:

1. a ballad of songbirds and snakes by suzanne collins

2. the great gatsby by scott f. fitzgerald

3. candide by voltaire

4. truly devious by maureen johnson

5. the silent patient by alex michaelides

happy reading !

Christina (littlelizard) | 3 comments I'm excited to join my first ever readathon as well! Funny enough the last 2 book I've read/currently reading perfectly fit in! :)

1. Clockwork Princess This book/book series was amazing! I still can't believe how great it was and how much joy it brought to me. So happy I found it on goodreads.

2. The Invisible Library Definitely a mainly blue cover!

3. I think I'll be reading one of the short stories of Magnus Bane by Cassandra Clare. Really into the shadow hunters at the moment.

4. Alan Bradley's The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie

5. Ended up reading this brutal/scary one: Alice

rose ✨ (cinderellaslibrary) Christina - maybe one of the more "classic" thrillers, something like Strangers on a Train? I found that one creepy but overall more intriguing than terrifying!
