Sarah B | 1532 comments I have finished my PIFM book That Night which I had really enjoyed. I could relate to the main character about a few things, like how she struggled sometimes in making decisions. Like should she get involved in an argument between two people? Should she tell on her sister doing things? There was a nice twist to the story I didn't see coming.

I've started my second PIFM book this morning: In the Clearing. So far I find it interesting..

We have those mask rules here in Milwaukee too. But we do have some leeway.. you have to wear masks indoors in a public setting like a store, restaurant, etc but you are not really required to wear them outside. And that is because there are people who have invisible health conditions, like breathing problems or other things (mental conditions where a mask would trigger them emotionally). You are encouraged to wear them outside if you can. Many do. But also a lot of others don't especially when they are out exercising on the trails. Remember not all conditions are easily visible. There are invisible disabilities and some of those can affect one's ability to wear a mask safely while outside because their oxygen might drop if they are trying to exercise to remain healthy. And everyone needs exercise..

Sarah B | 1532 comments Well I finished In the Clearing today! In the Clearing (Tracy Crosswhite, #3) by Robert Dugoni and I really enjoyed it. There are two cases in here: one about a woman who shoots her husband and the other about a teenager who disappears one November night. The second case is the lead story and I'm glad about that as it was the more interesting of the two. Very mysterious!

I'm going to start my third PIFM book now: Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan

Sarah B | 1532 comments I read Imaginary Friend last year and I recall I really loved that book! Except for one scene...I didn't like that scene at all. You'll probably know it when you read it, if you know me a little bit.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Hey, Tonya - I just started Imaginary Friend and have read the first 11 chapters. Very creepy. For some reason it reminds me a little of Stranger Things.

Will there be a thread for the buddy read?

message 61: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyasmith) | 693 comments Can you put it up Kirsten? My phone will not allow me too..I'm on chapter 27..how do you like it so far...I like it. it has kept me interested.

I'm liking it too. I just finished chapter 39. I love the characters and the interactions. The woods are just plain creepy. It reminds me a little of The Outsider by Stephen King.

I wasn't sure I was allowed to set up a thread here but I will.

message 63: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyasmith) | 693 comments Thank you setting up the thread.I'm just starting part 4 page 189. Yes, the woods are very creepy. I'm also enjoying it.

Hey ladies and gentlemen if you would like to join Kirsten and I please do so. More the merrier.

message 64: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Absolutely, do NOT be intimidated by the length. I've set myself a goal of 70 pages/day. Also, it reads very very fast.

message 65: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments I had a 3-way tie for August. I just finished one of them, Finding Claire Fletcher. Thanks to Perri and Vicki for their votes for this book. I was riveted from the first sentence!

Today, I’m starting the second one, Crimson Lake.

Tonya (tonyasmith) | 693 comments I knew you would. I couldn't put it or Redemption Point down. I still have found the third book yet.

So my second of the 3-way tie for August is read. Thank you, Tonya and Patricia for your votes on Crimson Lake. The third will have to wait a little while.

message 70: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyasmith) | 693 comments Brenda, I sure hope to find it as well..I would love to read it and find out what happened next.

Redemption Point is just as good. I hope you also enjoy it as much..

Please let me know if Gone by Midnight is as good as I think it will be.

Perri | -43 comments Brenda, how many books do you read in a week? I'm lucky to read two. I think I'm a pretty slow reader. Good thing I have lots of time :)

I did some calculations, Perri. This is Week 35 of the year, and I’ve read 87 books. That averages 2.5 books per week. It does vary week to week depending on my free time and the length of the book and how “into” the book I am.

Ha! figures a numbers gal would get on this question. I calculated mine. I've read 76 books so it's 2.2. It would be interesting to track how much time I spend reading averaged. But especially in these times I guess it doesn't really matter!
