Katie (love---katie) | 581 comments I saw in an interview or on Samantha Shannon's website or something that this book is a standalone in the sense that it truly can stand alone and is its own self-contained narrative, but not necessarily that she will never write anything else in this world. That makes me super excited to think that maybe someday I'll reunite with these characters! In the meantime, I'll start reading her Bone Season series :)

Eleo Emil (eebe) I agree, the end is too abrupt and I hope there will be a sequel.
What are you going to read next?

luna ☾ (lunargoddessera) That gives me hope 🙏
The Bone Season has been in my TBR for years now and I looked into it again straight after finishing this and I saw there were 7 books overall and the 4th isn't even out yet so I'd prefer to wait until later 😅

I'm not going to be able to get to Priory this month, but I will try my best to read it next month!

Also, I've heard The Bone Season books are so good, so I wish you the best of luck and happy reading if any of you try them.

Bopeep (bopip) | 1089 comments Today I finished the first part of the book! I really like how all the characters have their own endings. At first I was so interested in Tané, but now I really really want to know what will happen to Loth.
Ead is cool, but I'm bored with court life -so many books about that.

It's amazing how fast one can read this book!!

Bopeep (bopip) | 1089 comments Ooof. I finished part II today and ALL THESE CLIFFHANGERS.
I didn't expect any of it but I really love them all.

(view spoiler)

Aless, did you start reading? :D

Eleo Emil (eebe) I'm so glad you like Niclays as much as I do. But the worst is yet to come.

OMFG Tané got unlucky y zero comma, I mean, all of her life is gone. Don't know w..."

No, I'm still fighting the worse slump ever, but I'm itching to pick it up.

Bopeep (bopip) | 1089 comments I'm on chapter 52! And now that the story starts getting together I'm not addicted as before... :(

hmm that's interesting

Bopeep (bopip) | 1089 comments I finished!

I think I had that not-addictive moment because there was always something happening, with cliffhangers, but at some point the story relaxes a bit and all characters are more or less fine.

I love books from different POV where their stories merge together. Also the different cultures, and their union against a common villain... The worldbuilding is amazing, and the characters too.
But I still have one question: is homosexuality accepted there? They all seemed to have secret relationships, but I'm not sure if that for their sexuality or because their different social groups. What do you think?
